We are proud to be a part of and support....
Here at Chinchilla Uniting Church it is important for us to work within our community.
We aim to be a vital and important part of serving those within our district in a number of ways.
FRONTIER SERVICES: By hosting Great Outback BBQ's and other fundraisers we aim to raise awareness and funds for those doing it tough in the bush as well as supporting our Patrol Ministers and families in the outback while having fun ourselves!
SU CHAPLAINCY: The congregation is a long time supporter of the local Scripture Union Chaplaincy programs within our school. Our minister is on the local Chaplaincy committee and an active member of SU events.
UNITING CARE/BLUE CARE: We are proud to support the annual Uniting Care Target Christmas Tree Appeal through our local Target store. Through this event we are able to assist families and individuals with vouchers for food and other provisions during times of trial and stress. Our church works alongside our brothers and sisters in Blue Care supporting them in their valuable work they undertake within the community.
MONTHLY PRE-LOVED CLOTHING SALE Held on the 1st Saturday of every month we sell a huge range of great quality 2nd hand clothing
KUP OF KINDNESS: The church actively supports this fantastic charity in our local town with clothing and other support. Kup of Kindness offers free meals to people in our town as well as breakfast's as school and runs an op-shop near the church.
CHINCHILLA CHRISTIAN MINISTERS GROUP - COMBINED CHURCHES: Our minister attends the monthly meetings and is an active participant in the combined events. These events include Combined Christmas Carols, Ecumenical events, God Squad visits, YWAM visits, Melon Festival church services.
MELON FESTIVAL: Our church proudly hosts the opening formal luncheon for the bi-annual Melon Festival and has previously hosted special guests Kim McKosker (4 Ingredient Cook Book, Ruby Slipperz and Dame Quentin Bryce). We also host the Keep Cool Cafe during Saturday.
CHINCHILLA RSL SUB-BRANCH: The Chinchilla Uniting Church has a very close relationship with our local RSL Sub-branch and many of our members endeavour to attend events during the calendar year. Tanya is very proud of her role as Chaplain for the local sub-branch.
